All registering Minnows will receive a Coogee Minnows T-shirt as part of their registration fee. All Minnows must have a club cap, which if you are a new Minnow, can be purchased on registration day for $15. We are continuing with the reversible caps with the club colours on one side and a single age group colour on the other. Age groups have their own colour, which remains the same for each following season, so keep your colour caps from last season. All the Minnows Club gear including swimming costumes and hats (not compulsory), are available to purchase on the Registration days and at the beach each Sunday - 9.00 -10.00am. Proficiency Swims: Please Read In past years, under 9's and 10's had to complete 200m in less than 6 minutes, and the under 11's through to under 14's had to complete 200m in less than 5 minutes. This season has seen changes. The times above now only need to be completed by nippers who wish to compete in recognised carnivals. These include the Randwick Shield, Branch and State. For those individuals who are unable to meet these times, but still wish to participate in water activites as part of the Coogee Minnows, then there is a new Participation skill proficiency level. This requires members to meet the following requirements: Under 9: 25 metre swim (any stroke). 1 minute survival float. Members completing a proficiency swim to this level will be allowed to participate in activities on the beach and in the water each Sunday, but will not be able to compete in recognised carnivals. For those who wish to complete at Carnivals including Randwick Shield, Branch and State the Carnival Proficiency swim times are listed below * 6 & 7 yr olds - no proficiency swim is required * 8 yr olds - need to complete a 25m swim (in any stroke) and a float for one minute in the pool. * 9 - 10 yr olds - 200m swim within 6 minutes * 11-14 yr olds - 200m swim within 5 minutes ...........
