This Week - January 23rd 2007

Dear Minnows Team,

Well what a week at Coogee Minnows - The Dolphin Surf Camp and the Bush Nippers plus a big day with Grant Hackett at the beach

This Sunday 28th Jan 2007 is Handicap Day 2....and the water is now warmer:

The Dolphin Surf Camp and the Bush Nippers - images attached

Two big days and heaps of happy but tired kids

With instruction from the Dolphin Surf Stars - fantastic support from the Minnows Water Safety Team, and a huge effort from the BBQ team it was two of our best days ever.

With the Bush Nippers and 80 Coogee Minnows in attendance, the kids hit the freezing water in droves, and by the 2nd session on day 1 really hit their straps.

The kids paddled, swam, ran and did their flags, and kept the effort up over the two days culminating in a big presentation at the club.

It was great to see all the kids in every age group support the Westpac Bush Nippers, and to Henry, Adelaide, Lucy and Cameron thanks for being with us over the last week, and we hope to see you again.

This camp was successful for a range of reasons, but it would not have been at all possible without the hard work and assistance by lots of mums and dads in the water safety team and the BBQ crew. Thanks to each of you !!!!!!!

I would especially like to thank Warren, MJ, Sam, and Steve and Mark in the shed for their big effort over the two days.

We will be getting a full round up of images from these two days which we will be putting on the website soon

Sunday Nippers and Grant Hackett

What a day on Sunday with some of the biggest waves we have encountered for a while, very cold water, and a lots of courage from the Minnows as they hit the waves

With 4 film crews, 3 photographers and lots of extra people, the day was a huge success for all parties concerned, and there was lots of talk about the professionalism of the kids and how well they handled the whole event... well done Minnows
