Welcome to the new 2005-2006 season of Surf Life Saving.
Well, here we are with the start of the season just days away, and with this hot weather here, where better to be on a Sunday morning than Coogee Beach
Our first Minnows Sunday on the beach is 08:45am 9th October 2005.
Children must be aged 5 years or older on 1 October 2005 to be able to register. Your child's age group is the year older than his or her age on 1 October 2005. (e.g. if your child is 6 years old on 1 October 2005 he or she will be in the under 7's).
Registration fees, for this season will be $95.00 per child, or $135.00 for two children and $165.00 for three or more children from one family (GST inclusive).
Our 2 Registration days in September went well with over 350 children now registered
New Registrations will continue at the beach from 08:45 am on the next 2 - 3 Sundays depending on final numbers - so get in early
Registrations will go from 08:45 - 9.30 am with Coogee Minnows apparel available from 08:30am to 10;00am the first two Sundays 9th and 16th
Proficiency Swims
The next proficiency swim for new registrations and those who need to do again for will be held at Coogee Randwick RSL from 11.30 am -12.30pm on the 16th October at the Pool
Please be there from 11.30 am and bring your registration receipt with you: We are unable to start any earlier than 11.30 am
See below for times required - these times are mandatory and need to be Passed before partaking in any water events for the 8-14's
The level of proficiency required is to be able to complete 200m within 6 minutes for the 9’s and 10’s, and 200m within 5 minutes for the 11’s to 14’s. The 8 year olds do not need to complete a timed pool swim, but need to complete a 25m swim (in any stroke) and a float for one minute in the pool.
The 6's and 7's do not need to undertake a proficiency swim at all.
