This Week - November 8th 2006

Dear Minnows Team,

Congratulations to all those who braved the elements last week at Coogee Minnows and a special mention to the 80 Under 6's and 7's that rolled up on the day.

As mentioned on Sunday our Under 6 Age Manager and long time Minnows Icon Eddie Wilson is in hospital having heart surgery. The surgery was on Monday and our thoughts and prayers are with Eddie as he recovers. We look forward to seeing him being back on the beach with us in a few weeks time - it's not the same without him their with the kids

Dolphin Surf Camp: Jan 18-19 2007:
Q and A from the beach
Age Groups are 8-15 yrs
The two tents will be up for sun protection - not all day in the sun
BBQ on the beach and Water Safety on the day
You do not need to be an experienced swimmer or board paddler - this camp is about enhancing your current skills
Beach skills are also catered for, it is not just for surf skills
Experienced trainers/Ironmen on hand
Great opportunity to have some fun with the Minnows team
2nd Child from same family is $65

I would encourage as many kids to join this camp as possible, as it will be one the highlights of the season.

Bronze Medal Parents:
As advised on Sunday if you want to do some training this week please meet at the boatshed at 6.30am for 30 mins of swim board and run. This is for each day this week so see you there.

Minnows Parents SurfBoat Crew:
Last Saturday we had two parents at the boat training. Ian's thoughts are that if we actually nominated a group of 4 persons to attend at 8.50am, then another group at 10am and a last group at 12pm.  Please advise Ian direct if you want to nominate a specific time. Ian.Quirk@afp.gov.au

We will also be doing some training with the team selected for the Randwick Shield after Nippers this Sunday
